About Us

Who we is
We are a dedicated group of talented web and media designers. Each of our designers work as freelance artists under the GoldCoastDesign banner. We are all fairly crazy about web design and treat it as an art form as well as a career.

What we do
GoldCoastDesign specializes in highly complex, custom database web applications. Whether you want to set up a multi-user real estate site, an automatic emailing program, an online timesheet program, an ecommerce site, or just a simple gallery, we can put together a site that will meet your exact needs to the tee. Basically, if you can think it, we can build it.

Our designs
All of our websites are coded with the utmost attention to details. All sites are coded by hand with strict attention to correct and current coding standards. We also go the extra mile in that our code is built so it will be easier (and less expensive) for you to change things later on. Websites are always going to need to be changed and updated. A mark of a professional well-done job is how easy is it to be able to change portions of your site to meet your changing needs.

Our websites are coded to XHTML1.0 and we specialize in table-less designs. This may not mean much to some of you, but for those of you who know what these mean, you know that these are essential to a well-built site structure.

We also specialize in the open-source powerful PHP web programming language. This is by far a better choice for your site structure than much less supported ASP (Microsoft's Active Server Pages) and the slower JSP (Java Servlet Pages). The PHP language is not only free, it is definitely the most supported out of these three with nearly every hosting service provider supporting it.

Our philosophy
We love web design. It is an extremely liberating medium in that the possible things you can build with it are nearly endless. That and the fact that you can reach everywhere, at any time. No need to pay rent for a storefront, no need to be limited by your geography. And most importantly, no need to limit your ideas.

We also believe strongly that our customers should be able to understand how their site works and why it works. We work very closely with our clients through every step of the process and we take the extra time to explain what the inner structure of their sites are. This attentive customer interaction ultimately lets our clients be much more informed on how things are built and assists them when working with other designers in the future. Think of it, wouldn't you love to understand what the mechanic did for your car? And how this knowledge will ultimately help when dealing with other mechanics later on. We certainly would - just don't ask us to fix your car cause we know just as much as you do on that subject :)

We pride ourselves on keeping our prices well below the competition (up to 55% less). Not only that, but we also offer automatic discounts for new clients and non-profit organizations. Our Availability
We are available exactly when you need us. We do have regular office hours (M-F 10a - 6p PST), but you can still reach us and find us working away on the weekends and late into the evenings.

Once you become a GoldCoastDesign client, you are given direct phone access to our designers 7 days a week which means, guess what, when you're off of work, we're still working for you and you can still call us to get something done at 10pm on a Monday night. No silly chat support programs, no waiting 2 days for an email response. Just an attentive real-life person.
